57,000 of these sensors were previously installed in hospitals, schools, and businesses across the United States. The affected items manage air conditioning, heat, and humidity inside many commercial buildings and public properties. These sensors overheat and pose a severe fire danger to anyone inside the building. Several fires have already been blamed on these defective products.
Although Siemens is trying to contact all the purchasers of these defective sensors individually, it is still a good idea for consumers to double check that these devices aren’t being used in their vicinity. If you are unsure whether your local school, hospital, or workplace uses one of these devices contact the building’s management or facility manager and make an inquiry.
The attorneys at Fellows Hymowitz Rice P.C. have a record of success in handling a wide range of cases including injuries caused by defective products. We bring the same individual commitment and dedication to each case, big or small. If you have been injured or sustained loss in any type of accident as a result of someone else’s fault call us for a free confidential consultation at 845-639-9300.
